Inner West Council
After 55 years and with more than 11 million visitors passing through its gates, including an average of 15,000 monthly visits to one of Greater Sydney’s most successful swim schools, Inner West Council’s Ashfield Aquatic Centre underwent a significant redevelopment to meet the community’s long-term needs.
As Council’s largest purpose-built, community infrastructure project designed to ‘cater for all’, the enhanced facility now offers a range of unique, complex and exciting features.
Highlights include 5 new water bodies – such as the outdoor program pool with moveable floor and adjustable depth – plus spa and sauna, gymnasium, crèche, and café.
+ Conducted an ongoing independent health check to ensure project outcomes were optimised, leading to a focus on operational capacity.
+ Implemented an Operational Facility Management Framework, elevating Council’s organisational capacity for operations.
+ Value engineered more than $1.5m in savings to meet budget requirement, while maintaining the performance requirements without compromise.
